Welcome to the official framework for the 2026 Philippine Number Ninja Competition (PNNC). Organized by BrainBee Education, the PNNC is a premier national numeracy challenge designed to transform mathematics from a daunting academic subject into an exciting pursuit of mastery. By emphasizing the four fundamental operations, the PNNC promotes mental agility, speed, and accuracy - the foundational pillars of higher-order thinking skills.

The competition is structured into two distinct, progressive phases:

• Part I: Regional Preliminary Rounds – The initial nationwide gauntlet where elementary and junior high school "Number Ninjas" compete within their respective chosen operation categories to showcase their mathematical precision.

• Part II: National Finals – The ultimate arena where top-tier regional qualifiers meet on the national stage to compete for ultimate numeracy excellence.

PART I. REGIONAL PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

GUIDELINES ON THE CONDUCT OF THE

2026 PHILIPPINE NUMBER NINJA COMPETITION (REGIONAL PRELIMINARY ROUNDS)

These guidelines shall be observed in the conduct of the 2026 PHILIPPINE NUMBER NINJA Competition (REGIONAL PRELIMINARY ROUNDS).

1.   The 2026 PHILIPPINE NUMBER NINJA COMPETITION (REGIONAL PRELIMINARY ROUNDS) is a test of the skills in the four fundamental operations in Mathematics (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division) of Whole Numbers and Integers of Grades 2-12 learners which will be held online from June 2 - 6, 2026 for Batch 1, September 5 - 12, for Batch 2, and December 7 - 18, 2026 for Batch 3. Learners will answer a 30 - item test on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of  whole numbers (Grades 2 - 7) and integers (Grades 8 - 12) at a specified time.

2.   A learner may participate in any one or two categories for Grade 2 learners; and any one, two or all four categories in Grades 3 - 12 of the competitions and shall pay the required registration fee for each chosen contest category to be participated.

3.   It is advised that parents or coaches shall conduct intensive training to the learner contestants. 2026 PHILIPPINE NUMBER NINJA PRELIMINARY ROUNDS contestants shall only participate on the specified date of competition as stipulated in this guidelines.

4.   The contest is open to all Grades 2-12 learners from any ethnicity, religion, economic situation, or location in the world. Schools may send more than one (1) learner contestant per category per grade level.

5.   Parents/Coaches shall register online through the registration link in this site. Only those who have registered on or before the set deadline of registration can participate in the competition.

6.   Parents/Coaches shall ensure that the contestant is already in the virtual exam room 10 minutes before the start of the competition. If a contestant is late and the timer of the competition has already started, he/she may still join the competition and use only the remaining time left to answer the contest items. No special time extension shall be given to participants who joins late in the competition.

7.   Parents/Coaches shall guide and accompany their contestants during the virtual conduct of the competition but shall stay far from the area where the learner is seated for the competition. Parents/coaches shall not be seen obstructing the cameras or passing around the learners in the duration of the contest.

8.   A virtual proctor shall be assigned to check the background and front view of the contestant. The parents/coaches must see to it that no other person or obstructions shall be seen or are present in the background or front view of the contestant.

9. Only the contestant is allowed to open the link to the contest items and answer all items given the specified time.

10. The camera and microphone shall be turned on in the whole duration of the contest.

11. A contestant shall be given three warnings if any of the conditions in items 8, 9 and 10 in this guidelines are not observed properly. Upon the fourth notification, the proctor will automatically close the contestant’s access to the competition and the contestant will be automatically disqualified.

12. Parents/coaches shall ensure that the learner has a stable internet connectivity during the mock test and competition proper. If a contestant is disconnected and logged out from the competition for more than 5 minutes, the learner is automatically disqualified. If the learner is able to come back to the competition after being disconnected for less than 5 minutes, he/she may continue answering the items, however, he/she can only use the remaining time left in the competition. No special additional time shall be granted to the contestant.

13. After a successful registration to the competition, the contestant shall receive an acknowledgement of the registration and notification indicating the time and date of the mock test and contest proper schedules.

14. All registered contestants shall participate in the mock test. There shall be no special mock test for non-attendees. 

15. All learners will answer a 30-item skills test in the four fundamental operations depending on the category chosen by the contestant upon registration at the specified time limit. All computations must be done manually using scratch paper and a pen/pencil. Using a standalone calculator, phone calculator app, or any digital calculation tool during the exam will lead to automatic disqualification.

17. The official exam application that will be used in the competition is Quilgo.

Quilgo Account & Access Requirements:

Quilgo Accounts: Not required for students or parents. Learners simply click the provided 

exam link and input their basic details (Name/Email) to begin.

18. The timer structure for the test will be guided by the following:

A. Overall 30-Minute Session Block: Each learner is allocated a total 30-minute session block for the entire competition flow. Within this window, participants must join the Zoom meeting room, open the exam link sent to their registered emails, complete the test, and listen to the final proctor reminders.

B. Timer Duration and Immediate Start: An additional 1-minute is added to each grade level's official exam time window specifically for learners to encode their names on the test interface. The timer begins immediately as soon as the test is opened and the learner starts entering their details.

C. Mandatory Platform Submission: Learners must ensure that they click the Submit button on the platform before their running exam timer expires. Responses submitted beyond the time limit is automatically disqualified.

D. Post-Exam Proctor Reminders: Immediately after clicking submit, learners must return their focus to the Zoom room to receive concluding reminders and instructions from the proctors before exiting the session.

19. To give chance to learners who do not have enough device resources, the following are the detailed guidelines on learner set-up by device type during the test:

A. Desktops / Laptops (Preferred & Recommended):

Device Count: 1 Device.

How it works: Learners can run the Zoom meeting in the background while keeping the 

Quilgo exam link open in their web browser. Both Zoom and Quilgo AI tracking will function seamlessly side-by-side. 

B. Tablets / iPads:

Device Count: 2 Devices.

How it works: Learners must download the free Quilgo App from the App Store / Google Play 

Store to run the test. Zoom must run on a secondary device (e.g., a phone) to avoid closing or 

pausing the Quilgo app during the exam.

C. Smartphones (Mobile-Only Learners):

Device Count: 2 Devices (Dual-Device Method).

How it works: Download Quilgo from app store. No need to create a account. 

The test opens directly in the mobile browser (Chrome/Safari). Zoom must run on the second 

phone/device set up at a side angle capturing the learner’s face, hands, and phone screen.

D. Single-Phone (Mobile-Only Learners):

Step 1: Join Zoom & Enter Dedicated Breakout Room
The learner joins the Zoom meeting on their smartphone for roll call, short reminders, and initial instructions. Single-phone users will be placed into a dedicated Zoom Breakout Room supervised by a BrainBee Education staff member.

Step 2: Pre-Test Identity & Room Check
A brief identity and environment check will be conducted via Zoom camera before the exam begins. This check is solely to uphold academic integrity, not to inspect your personal space. Learners may open the test link once granted explicit permission by the staff member.

Step 3: Open the Test Link & Immediate Timer Start
The learner clicks the Quilgo link sent to their email or chat, opening the test in Safari or Chrome. The exam timer starts immediately upon opening the page, which includes the extra 1-minute added to their official time window to encode their full name.

Step 4: Continuous Background Audio & Active Microphone
Zoom will automatically minimize or pause its camera feed when switching to the browser. Learners must keep both their audio output and microphone turned ON for the entire duration of the test so they can hear organizer announcements and be monitored audibly by the staff member.

Step 5: Quilgo Automated Proctoring
Quilgo serves as the primary proctor on the device, capturing periodic camera snapshots through the mobile web browser while the student answers the items.

Step 6: Submit & Return to Zoom

    The learner must click the Submit button before the timer expires. After 

    submitting, they must immediately switch back to the Zoom app to report completion and     receive final reminders from the proctor before exiting. 

20. Their shall be no reimbursement of registration fees in cases of disqualification from the competition. All registration fees, once processed and accepted by the finance system of BrainBee Education is non-refundable. Failure to take the test on the scheduled dates means automatic disqualification and registration fees of disqualified contestants is non-refundable.

21. Since the competition is strictly timed, learners are required to click the Submit button on the Google Form to save their work. If the timer reaches zero while a learner is still working, they must immediately click Submit to ensure their answers up to that point are recorded. Please note that submitting after the allotted time limit will log an Overtime status on the proctoring dashboard, which will result in automatic disqualification. Learners who finish and submit all items before the time limit expires will be able to view their scores immediately upon submission.

22. A notification of scores and award will be sent to the contestant two to three weeks after the competition. The certificates and medals will be sent via mail two to three months after the competition to medalists, free of charge. All medals, certificates for learners and coaches, and hard copy of the official registration receipt shall be sent together directly to the school of the learner participant addressed to the Principal's Office. A notification shall be sent to the registered email address once the items are forwarded to the courier. Both medalists and non-medalists will receive e-certificates.

23. All learners will answer a 30-item skills test in the four fundamental operations depending on the category chosen by the contestant upon registration at the sepcified time limit.
